New Album

 

Here it is, the current project "Sankofa"

an african word which If I remember correctly refers to the importance of learning from the past. 

not that I expect anyone to ask. 

People tend to compare me to AZ and A tribe called Quest a lot, and I should resent it in interest of being original but the truth is....

I definitely have been hungry for a more bassy organic sound. something that the tribe specializes in. 

I wanted this project to just be a collection of human experiences and not just "hot 16's over beats" which is why I still think I could do more .

I could drop 5 or 7 tracks now but I really want to feel like I completed the mission i set for myself. 

on top of that, if I can actually sell this album and get a legit response, I'll feel a lot more comfortable making music in the future. 

then I'll give this trap crap another shot, since the people have been begging. 

Dont get me wrong, I don't hate trap. I just hate the idea that I have to "comply" with a sound in order to be "normal" 

if thats the case, why do any kind of art at all?

and yes, people tend to go silent when I ask that.
